Recipe –

  • 3 inches of fresh turmeric root (or teaspoon of dried turmeric root powder)
  • Around half a pineapple (more if you want. Its not an exact science)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Teaspoon of coconut or extra virgin olive oil
  • Put the turmeric root and pineapple through the juicer (Not the blender!)
  • Add the pepper and oil and what I do is put it through the blender to mix in the pepper and oil.
  • Then drink and enjoy.

Your sore knees, back, arthritis, achy elbows etc will improve out of site drinking this juice on a regular basis. It tastes delicious and it is pure health. For those that don’t already know the pepper and oil helps the curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) absorb better in the blood.

  3. I have a few questions for you. First, is the powdered turmeric that you buy in the spice isle at the market very beneficial. I’m sure the actual root would be better. Second, why can’t you put the ingredients in a blender? Is it because it turns out too fibrous? I have a Vitamix that I use for making smoothies and such.

    • Hi Sandra,

      I use the powdered turmeric mainly for cooking and I have a recipe that I have not tried yet for turmeric paste or golden paste as it is called and I will use the powder for that also. Yes it is especially good when cooked.
      You can put the ingredients in a blender however it then becomes a smoothie not a juice. A juice is where the pulp is removed from the fruit and just the juice remains. Either way its good for you, use both. Vitamix is great for smoothies but for a juice you need a cold pressed juicer. Hope this helps 🙂


  4. Not sure how much inflammation I have as I take pretty good of myself already but I am sure I have some. How do you measure the amount of inflammation you have anyways? But I have shared this for future and for friends. I am all about natural remedies(one of my friends is a licensed naturopathic doctor) and I plan to stay that way and healthy. Western medicine is about a crock of crap just designed to make doctors and Big pharma money. there I said it. The Insurance companies don’t help.

  5. I get lots of dextrin and dextrose after my workout do you think it will cause inflammation? I get around 80 grams. I know these are not processed but now I worry about my routine now. Because I drink it with my protein shake after every workout.

      Basically you are drinking sugar and sugar causes inflammation. I would stick with the protein shake and leave the others. But hey it’s your life so do as you please haha!
      But add turmeric for sure! 🙂

      It is a strong bitter kind of taste but if you have had curries you already know what it tastes like. It’s what makes the curries yellow.   8. I was just wondering……what does it taste like? Also, I don’t personally have access to a juicer, so for me it would be best for me to eat the pineapple as it is (which I love anyway). But turmeric, I don’t think I’ve ever bought the stuff. Can I cook it with something? Or does it have to be raw to reap the benefits? If I can cook it, what kind of dishes do you suggest?

      Turmeric is what gives curries their yellow colour. So you have had it before no doubt. It is a bit bitter and peppery but in a juice or smoothie, curry or stir fry it is delicious. I have the raw root in my juices but you can use the powder or the liquid extract I mention in the video and article. Use it in cooking with as I say curries, salads even, stir fries, add to juices and smoothies. You will love it and so will your body.

    I’ve read about benefits of tumeric in the past, but I’ve honestly forgotten about it until now. I never actually applied it to my diet or a recipe, but your pineapple drink recipe makes me want to give it a try

The combination of foods mentioned in the recipe is awesome and the reasons for combination is correct because I know the pepperin in pepper makes absorption of cucuminoids possible.
