The 4 Major Turmeric and Curcumin Benefits

Time to hear about the 4 major turmeric and curcumin benefits. Is turmeric good for you? What is turmeric good for? Lets find out. Turmeric (Curcuma longa), is arguably the most powerful herb on the entire planet! In my opinion there is no other that comes close to fighting and potentially reversing disease. Believe it or not turmeric has so many healing properties and benefits that as of the time of writing this article there are over 10,000 peer-reviewed articles published that prove the many benefits of turmeric, especially the healing compound it contains, curcumin.

So what this means is that turmeric is the most frequently mentioned medicinal herb in the science world. Yes you read that right. Science is now taking massive notice of turmeric as a healing food.

When you go through the research turmeric is now proven to be as good as, and in some cases exceeds the benefits of drug medication. Here is a list of treatments and medications that turmeric trumps. And the good thing is turmeric when taken correctly has no side effects, unlike medications.

The 4 Turmeric and Curcumin Benefits

Number 1. Turmeric Trumps Medication

When you go through the research turmeric is now proven to be as good as, and in some cases exceeds the benefits of drug medication. Here is a list of treatments and medications that turmeric trumps. And the good thing is turmeric when taken correctly has no side effects, unlike medications. Oh, and its a damn sight cheaper!

  • Β Anti inflammatory drugs
  • Anti depressants (better than Prozac)
  • Chemotherapy drugs
  • Anticoagulants (Aspirin)
  • Pain killers
  • Diabetes drugs (Metformin)
  • Arthritis medications
  • Inflammatory bowel disease drugs
  • Cholesterol drugs (Lipitor)

And always keep in mind turmeric, when used correctly, has no side effects.

2. Turmeric is the Best Anti Inflammatory

Turmeric has an amazing ability to control inflammation. When you consider 99 per cent of diseases in the body are caused by inflammation you can understand why science is so interested in it.

A medical journal, Oncogene, published the results of a study that evaluated a number of anti-inflammatory compounds and the findings were staggering!

It found that aspirin and ibuprofen are the least effective anti- inflammatories, while curcumin was among the most effective compounds in the world!

Why do people still go out and buy Aspirin and Ibuprofen? Because people are sheep generally and follow their doctors advice. If they started using turmeric instead of medication the Big Pharmaceuticals would lose money, and for Big Pharma profit comes before people. So don’t expect Big Pharma to start advertising the benefits of turmeric any time soon! (Share this article with as many people as you can! The world needs to know this stuff!)

So now you know that turmeric is better than medication for inflammation. And one of the best ways to take turmeric is as Golden Paste. Read more about Golden Paste here.

Order your own Golden Paste here.

3. Arthritis Treatment

A study was conducted on 45 patients with rheumatoid arthritis to compare the benefits of curcumin in turmeric with the arthritis drug, Diclofenac Sodium. Diclofenac Sodium puts people at risk of developing leaky gut and heart disease (I know, why would people even take this drug? Answer – their doctor told them too!)

The volunteers were split in to 3 groups – 1. curcumin treatment alone 2. Diclofenac sodium alone 3. a combination of the two.

The results of this trial were stunning!

The curcumin group showed the highest percentage of improvement in overall [Disease Activity Score] scores and these scores were significantly better than the patients in the diclofenac sodium group. More importantly, curcumin treatment was found to be safe and did not relate with any adverse events. Our study provides the first evidence for the safety and superiority of curcumin treatment in patients with active RA, and highlights the need for future large-scale trials to validate these findings in patients with RA and other arthritic conditions.

These results were published in 2012 in Phytotherapy Research. Again why would you use drugs when turmeric/curcumin are far better at healing and have no side affects?

4. Diabetes Management

There is arguably no better treatment than adding turmeric (preferably as Golden Paste) into your diet for lowering blood sugar and reversing insulin resistance.

In 2009 Biochemistry and Biophysical Research Communications published a study out of Auburn University that experimented with how using turmeric/curcumin can help reverse diabetes.

Again the findings were staggering. Turmeric’s wonder compound, curcumin is 400 times more potent than Metformin (a diabetes drug) in activating AMPK which improves insulin sensitivity which can have a huge affect on helping reverse Type 2 Diabetes.

It has also shown it can help reverse many of the issues related to insulin resistance and hyperglycaemia.

Worlds Best Anti Inflammatory.

There really is only one benefit of turmeric. It is without doubt the worlds best anti-inflammatory. As I have mentioned earlier, inflammation is the cause of 99 per cent of disease and illness in our bodies.

If turmeric and its amazing compound, curcumin, can heal inflammation then why would you keep using drugs your doctor prescribes? Now those who are hypnotised by their doctors to believe anything they say will respond with “Well my doctor knows best!” and tell me to stop believing all I read. And thats fair enough if I had never experimented and never used turmeric, but I have. It helped me heal my prostate and it will help to heal your disease too no matter what it is.

Time for us all to stop being sheep and to stop making the doctors and Big Pharma rich at our expense. Get onto the turmeric and start healing yourself!

Please share with your family and friends by clicking on the Facebook links, Twitter etc at the top of the page. Let’s spread the word.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or a Big Pharma Exec (thank God!) so I don’t profess to tell you that the results and benefits I received from turmeric will be the same you receive. We are all different and I also combined meditation, exercise, and other morning routines to achieve my results. As always consult with your doctor (I have to say this sadly) when looking to use turmeric as a medication. (He or she will usually advise against it as they want to keep you on pills they make money from)

Check out Turmeric Plus. I use these supplements and they contain black pepper so they work too. Have a brilliant week, Kev

  1. Hello πŸ™‚
I enjoyed the information, i use turmeric in a lot of my cooking, i’m glad to know it has so many benefits.
And what better way to enjoyed than in a meal.
Have a good day, I will come back for more info.

  2. I never heard about Turmeric until about two weeks ago. A friend of mine has suffered from chronic pain for decades. He thought he was going to have to live through it and that is what he was doing. Two weeks ago he started using Turmeric. He says he has been pain free.Pain free! Amazing. He said the compound had to have black pepper in it in order for it too be absorbed by the body. Does this brand contain the pepper?

  3. Hi Kev,

Thanks for this post. I had a car accident a couple years ago and I used turmeric and aloe vera to help boost the healing process and reduce any possible inflammation. The doctors were quite amazed at how quickly my wounds healed.

I totally agree with you turmeric is a wonder plant and more people should be using it on a regular basis.

Doctors will always try to get patients to use OTC drugs rather than choose natural options. The reason – natural remedies don’t put money in their hands. They don’t get paid if you are healthy. ut if they could get you to depend on them all the time then they become rich off of the unwell. That is criminal in my book.

    • Hey Kevon,

Thanks for the comment. That is a great story about your wounds healing with turmeric! Fantastic and a testiment to how powerful natural remedies can be. Yes doctors and Big Pharma are have a huge agenda. Make money. Patients come second sadly. Keep up the great work with turmeric πŸ™‚

  4. Excellent article on the power of turmeric Kevin. I work at a vitamin supplement plant and we have a curcumin product that is one of our top sell sellers. I take it everyday and when I occasionally forget my back lets me know it. And wouldn’t you know it Kevin?!!! It looks like i’m going to have to update my latest post on “confronting thyroid problems” as there is a ton of data available on how turmeric/curcumin is beneficial for treating thyroid disorders as well. I’m so glad I came across your site. I’m going to link it to “recommended” section of my website if you don’t mind. thx again

    • Hi Brad,

Thanks so much for that, yes definitely link my site. That would be great thank you. I will have to check out your curcumin supplement, it sounds great. Yes thyroids are becoming more of an issue with so much processed foods and chemicals around. Mushrooms are great and so is turmeric. Thanks again Brad, appreciate your support πŸ™‚ Kev

  5. I knew turmeric had many benefits but I did not know there were so many, I was surprised and I think I really need to buy this supplement.

    • Hi David,

yes its an amazing herb and amazing healing food. Turmeric certainly is the most powerful herb I know. Yes get some as soon as you can!

      Kev

  6. Hi Kev

I knew from people telling me that turmeric is supposed to be very good for us but I honestly never knew just how much!

Thanks for laying out all the benefits in a very well written post.

I’ll be passing this information on to as many people as I can.

    • Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for that. Yes the benefits are a bit hard to believe at first with turmeric but once you realise its all been scientifically proven you realise how good it really is. Thanks for sharing the post and getting turmeric out there. Cheers man, Kev

  7. I enjoy cooking and frequently incorporate turmeric. I knew of the health benefits. Thank you for really spelling them out here. I had no idea of the magnitude of benefits. I look forward to experimenting even more now with adding turmeric to my diet.
    Thank you for this information!
    Heather

    • Hi Heather,

Thank you for calling by, yes turmeric is amazing. The more I research it the more benefits I find. To know that it can help Alzheimer’s for example or depression is something that the medical industry needs to acknowledge and work on. Peoples lives matter but sadly the almighty dollar comes before peoples lives in this industry. Thanks again, Kev

  8. Another great read Kev. We here so much about turmeric on the social but few explain or the practical uses as you have.

I’ve swapped out all my joint anti-inflammations pills with the Turmeric Plus supplement that you recommend and have never looked back. Even on my heavy lifting days, my knees perform much better and for some reason don’t get as many headaches any more.

Someone told me I should cycle my turmeric in-take and have a break one week in every month. Something about it being more absorb-able. Any truth to this?

    • Hi Vince,

Glad the turmeric Plus is helping. Its great stuff. So many benefits, everyone should be using it or something similar. Great work. As long as the turmeric has oil and black pepper in it it will absorb into the body. I have it everyday without any breaks and I feel great. Keep up the great work mate. Turmeric is King πŸ™‚

  9. Awesome article here Kevin. I am not surprised that turmeric is the best anti inflammatory out there as well as having other huge physical and mental health benefits. I wish more people such as doctors would spread the work about turmeric or would at least recommend it to patients instead of trying to prescribe heavy medication. My mom has arthritis and before I knew about turmeric, I would always tell her you should get some meds for it when she would complain about her arthritis. She would then reply saying she doesn’t like to take meds for all her health issues as they actually make her feel worse. So I mentioned turmeric to her and told her all the benefits and by the way she has never heard of it before. Now I just opened my cupboard this morning and saw turmeric there. Guess she took my advice! Turmeric is truly great for both the mind and body. Thank you for sharing this wonderful information.

    • Hi Rob,

So glad your mum has found turmeric! Its a bit of a hidden gem. However it is becoming more and more well known and as such the medical profession will find ways to suppress its healing powers as it is competition for them. Your mum has the right attitude against meds. Shocking things with so many side effects. I watched a documentary last night called ‘What the Health!” Really spills the beans on the way groups like the Cancer Council’s and Diabetes groups are sponsored by the likes of Coco Cola and KFC, all foods that cause cancer and diabetes but these groups support recipes that include those products. The health industry is a total scam! Rant over haha!

Thanks again mate and all the very best to your mum πŸ™‚

      Kev

  10. Hi, Kevin!

I had heard that Turmeric has health benefits, but never realized it’s the most powerful herb we will ever find! I think it’s crazy that it’s more powerful than some medications and has zero side effects. This can be extremely good for health and also for the wallet too. πŸ™‚

I especially like the fact that Tumeric acts as a great anti inflammatory. When I had my sprained ankle, the doctors told me to fork out money for Ibuprofen to reduce the swelling. But I wish I had found your article sooner because not only is Ibrupofen expensive, but it didn’t have much of a positive impact on my ankle at the time.

Thanks for your insights into Turmeric and the health benefits. I’ll definitely check out Turmeric Plus.

    Neil

    • Hi Neil,

Thanks for that. Yes Ibuprofen is basically rubbish. But people fall for advertising. Turmeric has so many benefits it really is the most powerful herb around. The Big Pharma’s make their billions at the expense of helping people. Its a scam of major proportions. That little thing called curcumin is a real life saver. Thanks for your comments Neil,

      Kev

  11. I have heard lots about turmeric being the “DADDY” of all herbs but never really tried it before. I recently suffered a heart attack ( I’m only 38) and I know you said you wasn’t a doctor but are there any benefits of taking the turmeric plus to help with heart disease that you know of?

    • Hi Mat,

Thanks for that. Absolutely! Turmeric is well know to help with heart disease. Most disease is caused by inflammation and turmeric is the worlds best anti inflammatory. Here is a link that goes into how it helps heal heart disease https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19233493 This will definitely help your heart Mat!

      Cheers,

      Kev

  12. VERY awesome post!! I’m so glad you mentioned the black pepper thing!! Most people don’t know this and wonder why turmeric isn’t helping them as much. I told my fiance that and he immediately starting taking black pepper with it. I do love turmeric, but I HATE getting it on my fingernails and they are stained bright yellow for a week haha. I do use turmeric as a natural dye for my bath bombs, it always turns out so beautiful! Thanks for the great read!

    Best wishes to you!
    Heather Montgomery

    • Hi Heather,

Thanks so much for your comments. Yes the black peppercorns are a must for absorption. Haha yes the turmeric can definitely get messy with hands! The benefits are definitely worth it though haha! Thanks again and yes it would make a great dye for t shirts πŸ™‚

      Kev

  13. Hi Kev
I had no idea of the benefits of turmeric! My mother suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes. The latter is managed through drugs, but sadly there is no help for the former!! I’ll be having a discussion with her on this natural option for her and see how we go.
    Thanks Heaps
    Gina

    • Hi Gina,

Thanks for your comments. Yes definitely put her onto the turmeric! It does amazing things for those with arthritis. Keep me posted on that. It will help with both her arthritis and diabetes as per this post. She is someone who will definitely feel the benefits of taking turmeric daily. Definitely love to hear how you go with her. Good luck with it and much love to your mum πŸ™‚

      Kev

  14. Do you know that until my mum sent me a big pot of ‘curcuma’ cooking powder, I had never even thought of turmeric and its many merits? I have to say, I find its taste too overpowering, hence struggle to this day to use it in my cooking – but then I am known for being not the best cook in the world. Yet, yes, now I am aware of the many medicinal properties of turmeric. The only one I feel a little uneasy about is the claim that turmeric can replace chemo drugs. That’s a lot of weight on the shoulders of poor turmeric to carry such a massive responsibility. Is there evidence that this has actually been the case in cancer patients?
